Just a quick note to let you know that your committee has been working very hard in these last few months to increase SCEG's occupancy after the last two very quiet seasons which saw lodge usage drop to the low 30% range. You may also be aware that we occupy prime real estate for which we pay prime prices to Mt. Hotham. Obviously we all want SCEG to be there for our kids so we have taken the following steps:
-We have upgraded the heating system and now the lodge is efficient and warm throughout.
-Have made changes to the ease of booking and you can now check availability "online"

-Reduced members rates for accomodation by over 30%
-Made bookings available to the general public to help keep member costs low. We are also hoping a limited number of general public bookings can be converted to membership applications.
-Joined Hotham's partnership program giving us access to discounted lift/lesson packages and free advertising on www.mthotham.com.au
- Included Towels, Linen and now Wi-Fi for our members and guests.
- Undertaken vigourous marketing activity and streamlined membership applications
- Appointed a summer manager so the lodge is able to be enjoyed all year round.
- Re-appointed Fiona Laird as our popular winter cook/manager.
-Paid off debts and are saving for our Lodge upgrades.
All of the above has led to a very healthy number of bookings (over 90% still from members/guests - a very pleasing result), several new membership applications and a much better outlook for SCEG's future.
