The Ski Club of East Gippsland owes Jenny and Neil McLennan a debt of gratitude for the time and effort spent in writing this History.
It is easy to take for granted the facilities currently available to members and ignore the efforts of earlier generations with the vision and energy to foster a love of skiing. This Club is not simply a building at Mt Hotham enjoyed by a widespread membership, It is a unique organisation with a spirit and philosophy defined in history. To secure the future we must appreciate the past. This Book enables us to do this.

Biographical Note

Jenny McLennan (nee Thomas), was born and raised in the East Gippsland town of Orbost, and although she has lived most of her life in Melbourne, she has retained her connections with the east of the state. Her husband became a member of the Ski Club of East Gippsland in 1975 and she joined in her own right a short time later. She would certainly not describe herself as an avid skier, but rather as a good clothes-horse for her children when they were competing in the cross country race circuit. These days she prefers to stay warm in the Lodge as she gazes at the view from the front windows.
